A woman woke up on Saturday to find her downtown Palo Alto apartment was burglarized, according to police, who are looking for the public’s help in locating the suspect.
The break-in happened during the overnight hours in the 800 block of University Avenue, police said in a press release. The woman, who’s in her 30s, found her bathroom window open and items from her bedroom and bathroom were “disturbed” after she fell asleep around midnight.
The woman’s roommate was also in the apartment and asleep in another room during the overnight hours, police said.
The woman reported the burglary to police around 9:50 a.m. on July 27. There were no reports of anyone hearing or seeing the burglar. A preliminary investigation found nothing was stolen from the apartment.
A police review of security camera footage showed a man go to the woman’s apartment at 2 a.m. He was described as a medium-built man who wore a dark-colored hooded jacket, light-colored pants and dark-colored sneakers.
