A 49-year-old woman suspected of fatally shooting another woman at Villegas Park in Riverside was arrested Saturday, Feb. 1.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting at the park around 4 a.m. on the 3000 block of Esperanza Street in the Casa Blanca neighborhood. The victim, 51-year-old Tuesday Perez from Riverside, suffered a fatal gunshot wound and was found lying on the ground, the Riverside Police Department said.
Police identified the suspect as Angela Ann Garcia of Riverside. Garcia was believed to have been involved in a physical fight with Perez that ended when she allegedly shot and killed the woman at the park.
Garcia was located several hours later driving in Moreno Valley and was apprehended in the area of Ramona Expressway and Perris Boulevard following a slow-speed pursuit. She was arrested on suspicion of murder, officials said.
It was unclear what the fight was about. The relationship between the two women was not provided.
