Redbird Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Teams, 12 Student-Athletes Honored By USTFCCCA For Academics



NEW ORLEANS – The Illinois State men’s and women’s track & field teams along with 12 individual Redbird student-athletes garnered U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors for the their efforts in the classroom and on the track.

To qualify for All-Academic distinction as a team, the cumulative GPA (not 2023-24 academic year, not semester) for all student-athletes on the institution’s NCAA Squad List for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, certifiable by either NCAA Faculty Rep or NCAA Compliance Coordinator or Registrar’s Office.

In order to qualify for individual All-Academic distinction, Illinois State student-athletes had to have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must have either finished the season ranked in the top 96 in any championship individual event, or in the top 48 in any championship relay event, for the most recent indoor season or must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships (the Preliminary Championship Competition and/or the Final Championship Competition).

The Redbird men earned USTFCCCA All-Academic team honors thanks to a cumulative GPA of 3.24, while the women’s team was recognized for its combined 3.49 GPA. In total, 12 student-athletes were recognized by the USTFCCCA for their efforts including:
