CHICAGO — Illinois State men’s tennis used the momentum from its win in doubles to take down Chicago State 6-1 Saturday for the Redbirds’ fourth straight win.

ISU’s No. 3 duo of Caden Scarlett and Tomas Valencia got the action started with a dominant 6-1 win before Arvid Hjalte and Tom Bevan secured the doubles point with a win at the No. 2 spot.

The Redbirds secured the first three singles points with straight-set wins from Hjalte, Scarlett and Tin Ostro before Pedro Alvarez secured the Cougars’ only point of the day by taking down Nam Pham at the No. 1 singles spot.

Valencia and Adrian Dibildox closed out the action as they each picked up 10-4 wins in the third set to secure ISU’s victory.
