NORMAL, Ill. – Heading into the homestretch of the 2023 regular season, the Illinois State Volleyball program hits the road this weekend to take on Southern Illinois and Missouri State on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
ISU head coach Allie Matters will look forward to the weekend ahead on Tuesday at The Allie Matters Show, hosted at Rob Dob’s, beginning at 6 p.m.
Coach Matters will talk with Redbird play-by-play voice John Fitzgerald about the next few matches for the Redbirds as the regular season winds down ahead of the upcoming 2023 MVC Volleyball Championships.
This week, the duo will be joined by a pair of Redbird outside hitters as graduate student Bella Zeman and freshman Ally Saleh join the show.
This season, Zeman has totaled 149 kills over 26 matches for the Redbirds, averaging 2.10 kills per set. The Yorkville, Illinois native has also tallied 43 digs and nine blocks, with seven block assists, as part of her lone season in Normal.
Meanwhile, Saleh tallied a pair of new career highs versus UIC and Valparaiso last weekend, finishing with a new three-set career high (4 kills) and four-set career high (2 kills). The Waunakee (WA-nack-key), Wisconsin native has played in 16 matches (30 sets) thus far in her debut season as a Redbird.
