Cougars Women’s Golf Place Sixth at OVC Women’s Golf Championship

Paced by a top 10 finish by senior Koranis Boonmadee, the Chicago State women’s golf team placed sixth at the 2024 Ohio Valley Conference Women’s Golf Championship held Sunday through today at Tunica National in Tunica, Mississippi. Little Rock earned the tournament title with an eight-stroke advantage over last year’s champion, Morehead State. Individually, Little Rock had the top two finishers and three of the top seven while Boonmadee dropped two spots but still finished in the top 10, 12 strokes behind the leader.

The Cougars season could have ended today but the team has an opportunity to earn a berth in the PGA Works which is May 6-8 at TPC Sawgrass in Jacksonville, Florida. That berth is dependent on conference results from around the country and Chicago State would need two teams ahead of them to advance to regional tournaments to gain entry.
