Cougars Men’s Golfers Wrap Up Season with Fifth-Place Finish at PGA Works Men’s Championship

The Chicago State men’s golf team placed fifth at the PGA Works Men’s Championship which concluded today at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Verde, Florida. The Cougars Pablo Riveiro finished in a four-way tie for fourth with a +10 226, two shots behind the third-place finisher and three behind the runner up. Marcus Taylor of Florida A&M was the individual medalist with a 218 and the Rattlers had three golfers in the top five and claimed the team title by 29 strokes.

CSU finished just three strokes from finishing third as North Carolina A&T, Prairie View A&M and Chicago State jostled for position during the final round. Riveiro shot three rounds in the 70s while Zack Phelps claimed the round of the tournament for the Cougars, a 2-under 70 during the second round.
