Louisville’s 77-59 season-opening win over Cincinnati provided the 15th-ranked Cardinals with a first look at what the team has to offer.

After getting off to a slow start filled with turnovers, the team adjusted. U of L coach Jeff Walz noted some of the early miscues to his players, who still are learning to play together. While Walz doesn’t want them to get out of their scoring mentality and having that confidence, the Cardinals have to get comfortable making an extra pass.

“Those are the things that we’ll be able to break down on film and show them,” Walz said.

The Cardinals held the Bearcats below 40% shooting from the field, and their offense produced 41 second-half points.
